New Housing Complex

Accommodation at the New Housing Complex

The New Housing Complex is open to KAUST staff and KAUST Contractor Workforce staff.
In consideration of the eligibility criteria, you may register your interest by submitting this form.
Enrolled KAUST Students are not eligible for accommodation at the New Housing Complex.
Unit sharing is currently not permitted at the New Housing Complex. Non-KAUST Strategic Partner companies interested in shared accommodation options may contact Accommodation Services for further guidance.

Moving to the New Housing Complex

Soft packs including bed linens will not be provided as part of the move to the New Housing Complex. Residents are encouraged to bring their existing household items with them or make their own arrangements for any additional items they may need.
The units are provided furnished. If moving with your own furniture, please source independent storage for KAUST provided furniture for the duration of your stay. Only items contained within the approved furniture inventory at the move-in will be considered at departure.
The types of beds and bed sizes in each room include:
4 Bedroom Townhouse:
  • 1 King size bed (200 by 200 cm)
  • 6 Twin size beds (200 by 100 cm)
4 Bedroom House:
  • 2 King size beds (200 by 200 cm)
  • 4 Twin size beds (200 by 100 cm)
As this is considered an off-campus move, regular requirements including independent facilitation of move requirements is required.
Residents are welcome to view our show homes by completing this form when viewings are available.
The layouts of each unit type are relatively uniform, and images of a typical unit will therefore offer a true picture of the layout and features of the unit. Find floor plans of typical layouts here.

Living at the New Housing Complex

All units have a dedicated tile-surfaced outdoor space around the house.
Pets are permitted, subject to residents maintaining responsible pet ownership and ensuring their pets do not adversely affect the comfort, safety, or enjoyment of neighboring residents.
Each unit has its own covered parking space. Additional communal parking is available in the form of road side parking bays.
Work commuter bus services from the neighborhood to Building 16 will be available to residents of the New Housing Complex. Residents should avail their own transportation to KAUST facilities and spaces.

Contracts, Rent and Payments

Rental rates vary according to employer and/or employment status. A schedule of benefits is available in the brochure the New Housing Complex website, with further details provided after submission of the expression of interest form.

Unit Type Allocation and Preferences

Specific unit preferences can be noted but cannot be guaranteed. Requests to occupy a 4-Bedroom Townhouse or House are based on availability.

Unit Services and Maintenance

Units are prepared according to Accommodation Services' Unit Preparation Standards, which include cleanliness, functional fixtures, and basic readiness for occupancy.
Residents will have access to a dedicated neighborhood maintenance facility for day-to-day repairs and maintenance needs. These services may be chargeable, while regular scheduled maintenance will be provided free of charge.
Residents are requested to regularize any modifications to the unit including painting, drilling, or installed fixtures before any request for a final departure inspection to hand over the unit back to Accommodation Services.
